So You Think You’re Just Ordinary?

I’m guessing some of you reading this are thinking right now that you are just ordinary people. Sometimes naiisip natin na hindi naman tayo sobrang maalam sa Bible or sobrang galing sa spiritual na usapan para maging confident sa Gospel sharing natin. But there’s one truth while Jesus was here on earth that is a comfort for us, Jesus chose ordinary people.

In Acts 4:13 sabi “When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.” Peter and John spoke with boldness and conviction, but it wasn’t because they were educated or naturally talented at what they did. They didn’t take some time to go to Bible school, or to get good at public speaking before they went out. They were able to do what they did because they were empowered by the Holy Spirit.

The same is with us. Yes, studying and practicing will be a great help, but don’t let that be what you think qualifies you. Go out and share the word of Christ with your friends and loved ones, and trust that the Holy Spirit will be there to give you wisdom and empower you.

Ordinaryong tao lang tayo, pero ginagawa tayong extraordinary ng Holy Spirit para magawa ang mga bagay na pinapagawa Niya para sa Panginoon.
