Share Jesus Tip: Be an Example

Maraming mga kabataan at young adults na nauunang maging followers ni Christ sa isang family. And we know it’s not easy to share the Gospel especially to our families who knows us more than the people outside of our homes. Karamihan sa mga kabataan din ay nangangamba na baka hindi naman din sila paniwalaan because their families have witnessed them at their worst, at sila din ang nakakakita ng mga flaws natin even after we have Jesus sa buhay natin.

“I’m just a child, who’d believe what I say?”

“I’m not used to opening up deep conversation with my family.”

“They’ll just make fun of me.”

“I’m just praying for someone else to reach my family.”

Ilan lamang ang mga ito sa naiisip din natin when we’re becoming hesitant sa pag-share ng Gospel sa ating family. And most of the time we’re just waiting for someone else to share the Gospel sa kanila. Pwede naman na iba nalang ang gamitin ng Diyos para makakilala ang pamilya natin sa Kaniya, and it’s also possible that even if we share the Gospel with them eh hindi sila doon tumanggap because that’s not God’s time yet for them to accept. Pero sayang yung opportunity and privilege na sa atin palang ay makita na nila si Kristo.

1 Timothy 4:12 says, “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but sent an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.”

We are to set an example hindi lang sa mga ka-churchmates, schoolmates, or workmates. We are to set an example sa tahanan palang so they will see what a follower of Christ looks like.

#1 BE AN EXAMPLE IN SPEECH

Anong madalas naririnig ng family natin na lumalabas sa bibig natin? Palagi ba tayong nag-ccriticize? Respectful ba tayo kapag nakikipag-usap sa kanila? Na-eencourage ba sila tuwing nakakausap ka nila? O baka naman iniiwasan na nila tayong kausap dahil lagi tayong nag-cocorrect at nag-cocomplain?

Colossians 4:6 says, “Let your speech always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person.”

#2 BE AN EXAMPLE IN CONDUCT

Paano ba maging example in conduct?

Try taking an initiative sap ag-tulong sa gawaing bahay! You parents would certainly appreciate that at matutuwa din sila kapag nakikita nilang tumutulong ka sa pag-lilinis o kahit sap ag-luluto. Don’t grumble kapag may ipagagawa sa iyo, do it with gladness!

Show your family that you have a living faith. Yayain mo silang mag-pray before meals, or pwede mo rin sila yayain na mag devotion with you. Share with them what God has been speaking to you.

It will not be easy at maraming doubt na papasok sa isip natin dahil hindi naman ito ‘yung normal na gawain na nakikita nila sa atin, but hey! That’s even better ‘di ba? When they see us doing something na hindi normal na ginagawa natin, they’d see yung pagiging set apart natin, and they’d start to believe na genuine at tunay ang Diyos na sinasamba natin.
